Creating connection

Exploring what connection means and why it's important

All about Creating Connection – why this blog exists

Welcome to the Creating Connection blog!

Connection is such a strong theme for me, and I truly believe that it is central to our very existence.

That sentence already has me screaming at myself to clarify what I mean by connection but I’m going to resist that urge. I want to be able to organically explore the different ways in which connection manifests itself and where connection (and disconnection) is important to how we function as human beings.

The idea of and the word connect has been following me around for a while, since 2014 in fact. The practice of reflection has been lifelong and the notion of wanting to share my reflections/observations came about in 2020, after the birth of my first child. It’s truly amazing how inspired and delusional you can feel while feeding at 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 AM!

I don’t think I have many or quite frankly any of the answers but by writing my thoughts down I hope to help my brain make more sense of it all. By sharing it I hope to gain insight from others’ experiences and opinions. I also offer up my perspectives and experience as a chance for you to: learn from or be inspired by situations you may never be able to experience first-hand; be comforted that you are not alone in what you are going through; connect with others. As such I really encourage you to respond and share your thoughts and opinions.

Finally, for now, in sharing my musings and experiences I am bringing a level of vulnerability. I invite, but I do not necessarily expect the same level of openness in return. I do, however, appreciate respect and kindness for me or anyone that you come across here.

Thanks for taking the time to share this journey with me.
